Gachagua: There were attempts by State to access my speech today

ODM leader Oburu Odinga resigns as Chairperson of the Senate Energy Committee, citing circumstances beyond his control.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator William Kisang has been elected his successor and Oburu will now remain a member of the committee.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that attempts by the Kenya Kwanza administration and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to access the contents of his address today have failed.

Speaking at the DCP headquarters on Tuesday, August 11, Gachagua said he personally prepared the statement in which he gave his assessment of the Kenya Kwanza Administration after four years in office.

“There have been attempts by government handlers and the National Intelligence Service to find out the contents of my address before I do it, but they have been unsuccessful,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua said he wrote the statement himself, while his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, typed it for him.

“I did the statement myself and Mama boys (Pastor Dorcas Rigathi) typed it for me,” he said.

He then directly addressed the Kenya Kwanza Administration, saying access to his wife would be the only way to get to him.

“So, unless you get to Mama boys (Pastor Dorcas Rigathi), you can’t get to me,” Gachagua said.
