Itabidi turudi gym”: Pauline Njoroge on matching Sifuna’s energy as they land in Kitui

Digital communication strategist Pauline Njoroge has joked that she may need to return to the gym to keep up with the energy of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the Linda Mwananchi team continued its grassroots mobilisation.

Njoroge made the remarks on Monday after arriving in Kitui county alongside Sifuna and other leaders, where they were received by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua ahead of a series of meetings.

“Wueh! Keeping up with H.E Edwin Sifuna’s energy, discipline and commitment to the cause… itabidi turudi gym,” Njoroge said in a post accompanying photos of the team disembarking from a plane and being received by Wambua.

This comes a day after the Linda Mwananchi movement concluded a series of grassroots engagements in Western Kenya as it seeks to build a wider political network ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna and his allies had spent the weekend touring parts of Busia and Kakamega counties, holding public engagements and meeting residents as they popularised the movement.

On Sunday, August 9, the team held a church service at the ACK Cathedral in Mumias before embarking on a tour of Mumias West, Navakholo, Malava and Lugari constituencies.

The activities followed a two-day mobilisation tour in Western Kenya that began in Busia on Friday, August 7, with stops in Bumala, Murumba, Butula and Nambale.

The caravan then moved to Kakamega on Saturday, where the leaders traversed Sabatia, Isulu and Shinyalu before culminating the day with a rally in Kakamega town.

Sifuna was joined during the Kakamega tour by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

At Sabatia, Sifuna appealed to Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya to support and bless his political journey as he seeks a broader role ahead of the 2027 elections.

The mobilisation in Western Kenya is part of Linda Mwananchi’s wider effort to establish a grassroots network ahead of the August 2027 elections.

The movement has increasingly positioned itself as a people-centred political platform, with its leaders holding public rallies and community engagements in different parts of the country.

Njoroge’s involvement in the movement comes weeks after she resigned from the Jubilee Party after 14 years.

On July 21, Njoroge announced her resignation from the party’s National Executive Committee, where she had served as Deputy Organising Secretary.

She said she had been part of Linda Mwananchi since February and would now dedicate herself fully to the movement.

Njoroge said the movement’s agenda was aligned with her views on good governance, constitutionalism, accountability and servant leadership.
