Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has flown out of Kenya to attend the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair, which will be taking place in Algiers, Algeria, beginning Thursday, September 4, 2025, and continuing through Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Through his Facebook page on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Kindiki revealed that he had carried a team from the Kenyan delegation on his tour.
Kindiki’s tour to Algeria
“Departed with the Kenya delegation to participate in the fourth Intra Africa Trade Fair taking place in Algiers, Algeria,” Deputy President Kithure Kindiki wrote on Facebook.
The trade fair is expected to bring together businesses, governments, and investors from across the African continent to showcase opportunities and promote trade among member states.
For Kenya, this event comes at a time when the country is keen on expanding its export base while also strengthening bilateral and multilateral partnerships that can open new markets for local products.
Kindiki’s participation in the high-level gathering signals the government’s intention to prioritise regional trade as one of the tools of boosting growth back home.
It also provides Kenyan companies with a platform to connect with new partners, exchange ideas, and explore investment opportunities that could ultimately create jobs and support industrialisation.
The Deputy President is expected to attend a series of meetings with his counterparts from other African nations, where discussions will focus on building strong value chains within the continent and reducing reliance on imports from outside Africa.

Trade experts believe such engagements are key to unlocking the full potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
While in Algeria, the Kenyan delegation is also expected to hold side meetings to push for agreements in key areas such as agriculture, manufacturing and digital trade.
For small businesses in Kenya, the fair offers an opportunity to learn how to tap into new markets and how to align with continental standards that make cross-border trade easier.
The Intra-African Trade Fair has grown into one of the most important platforms for advancing the continent’s economic integration agenda.
For Kenya, the hope is that the networks created and the deals signed in Algiers will add momentum to ongoing efforts to increase trade within Africa.
