Kindiki: Divisive politics undermining Kenya's stability

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has taken a swipe at opposition leaders, saying their divisive politics are undermining national stability.

Speaking at Olooltepes in Kajiado West, Kindiki linked recent incidents of property destruction and loss of lives to the opposition, suggesting that their approach is fueling unrest rather than contributing constructive solutions.

"We must stop violence, tribalism and chaos for the country to move forward," said Kindiki.

He called on Kenyans to embrace peace and unity of purpose and shun the leaders preaching hate and incitement.

The DP said that the government is keen on improving the lives of Kenyans through the projects outlined in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto.

The DP was in the county as part of the planned countrywide economic empowerment tours.

The events are spearheaded by President's Aide Farouk Kibet.

"We are constructing over 400 fresh Produce markets in the country, 14 of those markets are here in Kajiado County which include Namanga, Bisil, Rongai, Kitengela, Kiserian, Kimana, among others," said Kindiki.

He also said that the government has considered building affordable hostels for students in technical institutions and institutions of higher learning, including Kajiado West TTI, that will benefit from 340 units worth 165 million, Maasai TTI, among other institutions in the county.

The DP said the administration is keen on key programmes that will spur the economy in the country, including the Affordable Housing program, overseas jobs, Climate WorX program, ICT Hubs and Professional jobs that include Teachers, Police, Community health promoters, among others.

The DP assured the residents of Kajiado that the government has fulfilled its promise in recarpeting the Ngong-Suswa road which will ease transportation through Naivasha.

He also challenged the residents to continue registering with the Social Health Authority, saying 500,000 out of 1.1 million residents of Kajiado have registered with SHA.

"As of today, 24.7 million Kenyans have registered with SHA and we are targeting 50 million Kenyans," said Kindiki.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, CS Defence Soipan Tuiya, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa and his Senate counterpart Aaron Cheruiyot.
