Kindiki: Ruto ready to face Kenyans with development scorecard ahead of 2027 polls

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has said the Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to ensuring equitable development across the country, declaring that no region will be left behind in the government’s transformation agenda.

Speaking during an inspection of the construction of Karura Ka Nyungu Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Kabete Constituency, Kiambu County on Wednesday, Kindiki said the government would continue investing in education infrastructure and other development projects to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans.

He announced that the government would also construct hostels in the area to support students and improve access to technical and vocational education.

Kindiki said the administration was determined to ensure that development projects reached all parts of the country without discrimination, regardless of political affiliation or geographical location.

"All Kenyans deserve development without any discrimination," he said.

The Deputy President maintained that the government was prepared to account to Kenyans for its performance as the country moves closer to the 2027 General Election.

He said President William Ruto and his administration would present their development scorecard to voters, highlighting projects implemented during their five-year term as they seek a second mandate.

Kindiki argued that the government’s development record would be central to its re-election campaign, insisting that Kenyans would have an opportunity to assess the administration based on its delivery of campaign promises.

He said the government remained committed to translating its manifesto into tangible projects, adding that ongoing investments in education and infrastructure were part of efforts to improve opportunities for citizens.

Kindiki also praised the working relationship between President Ruto and elected leaders from Kiambu County, saying their cooperation was helping the government advance its development agenda in the region.

"President Ruto deserves a second term. He has worked with leaders to ensure the development projects are realised," Kindiki said.

His remarks come as political leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with the government’s development record and its relationship with regional leaders expected to feature prominently in political discussions.

For the past month, the Deputy President has been traversing counties in the Mt Kenya region, inspecting ongoing projects.

In Kiambu, he has already visited Thika, Kabete, Kiambaa and Gatundu South, among other constituencies.

Kindiki was accompanied by Kabete MP Githua Wamacukuru, Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a, Kiambu Woman Representative and other local leaders.
