Man stabs brother to death in Sh20,000 dispute in Kawangware, Nairobi
Detectives in Nairobi are searching for a man accused of fatally stabbing his elder brother following a family dispute over Sh20,000 in Kawangware.
According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of June 10, 2026, in the Kawangware 56 area when brothers, including deceased Francis Egesa, 31, and his younger brother, 24, reportedly quarrelled over money that had been sent by their younger brother.
Investigators said the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation before the two were separated by their sister, who pushed them outside their rented house in an effort to restore calm.
However, police say the younger brother later requested to re-enter the house to collect his mobile phone.
Upon entering, he allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Egesa in the upper abdomen before fleeing the scene.
The injured man was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital by his sister and well-wishers, where he was admitted in critical condition.
He later succumbed to his injuries on June 11 at around 8:00 p.m.
His body was transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large as investigations continue.

Further examination revealed that the legs had no feet, while the hands had no fingers. Investigators also observed that the remains appeared unusually well preserved, with no visible traces of blood and a notably cold, almost frozen condition.
The scene was processed, documented, and secured by crime scene personnel. The recovered body parts were then transported to Nyeri County Referral Hospital Mortuary, where they await post-mortem examination and further forensic analysis.
