Gachagua to take DCP campaigns to Kiambu, Emurua Dikirr

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is set to intensify his grassroots mobilisation drive with a series of political rallies as the party builds its presence ahead of the 2027 general election.

Gachagua will begin the latest round of engagements in Kiambu county on Friday, August 7, where he is expected to be hosted in Kiambu town by Githunguri parliamentary aspirant Njenga Mbati.

The event is being promoted under the DCP's "Skiza WaKenya" campaign, with organisers using the slogans "One people. One voice. One future" and "One movement. One mission. One choice."

The campaign materials also carry the message "Karibu Kiambu! Pamoja Tunaendelea!" as the party seeks to strengthen its grassroots networks in the county.

Gachagua will return to Kiambu on Sunday, August 9, for a political engagement in Kiambaa constituency.

The programme will later move to Narok county, where Gachagua is scheduled to attend a thanksgiving rally in Emurua Dikirr Town on August 21.

The Emurua Dikirr event is also being organised under the DCP's "Skiza WaKenya" campaign.

The planned engagements come as Gachagua and the DCP step up efforts to build support at the grassroots and expand the party's political network ahead of the 2027 polls.

Gachagua has in recent weeks emphasised the importance of political mobilisation before decisions on broader coalitions or presidential candidates are made.

He has said political parties should first consolidate their support bases and establish the strength of their respective formations before sitting down to negotiate coali

tion arrangements.We want all these parties to remain together. I also want us to have many parties because we need enough agents to protect our votes," Gachagua said.

He has also maintained that there is no hurry to settle on a single presidential candidate, arguing that political formations should first mobilise and consolidate their supporters.

The latest engagements therefore place grassroots mobilisation at the centre of DCP's activities, with the party seeking to strengthen its support base ahead of the next General Election.

The former deputy president recently said his party's immediate focus was political mobilisation and consolidation, arguing that parties needed to establish the strength of their respective support bases before negotiating coalition arrangements.

DCP has also been receiving elected leaders and political figures as part of its recruitment drive ahead of the 2027 general election.

Gachagua recently received 10 Kirinyaga MCAs into the party, with the leaders indicating that they intend to seek re-election on DCP tickets.

The party has also welcomed Nyandarua Governor Kiarie Badilisha and members of the Nyandarua County Assembly, who said they would seek to defend their seats on DCP tickets.

The Kiambu and Emurua Dikirr engagements will give the DCP leader an opportunity to continue his grassroots outreach as political formations position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
