Gachagua Warns Ruto Against Sidelining Mt Kenya, Accuses Him of Incompetence

Gachagua, while referencing Ruto using a new nickname 'Githinji', criticised the President for allegedly abandoning Mt Kenya people despite receiving the region's overwhelming support during the 2022 polls.

You, Githinji, we elected you, we loved you, and voted for you. You became the president, but you betrayed us. You lied to us and went ahead to frustrate us," Gachagua claimed.

Addressing Murang'a residents during the burial of six family members who perished in a road accident, the former DP faulted the President for turning against the very people who helped him rise to power. 

Gachagua lamented about Ruto's alleged scheme of using a section of pro-government Mt Kenya leaders to mock and abuse him, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Martha Karua and even former Attorney General Justin MutGachagua Warns Ruto Against Sidelining Mt Kenya, Accuses Him of Incompetenceuri.

"Now you are sending your allies to mock and assault us. He is abusing our community. Your friend abused me, Uhuru Kenyatta, Martha Karua, Justine Muturi and Linturi," Gachagua alleged.

Adding: "I want to tell Ruto that we are not bad people, you are the one who has made us look like bad people. I want to warn you that you will witness our bitterness on August 8, 2027."

He further took a swipe at the Head of State over the current state of the nation, accusing him of reportedly interfering with Kenya's education and health systems.

Gachagua's comments come just two days after President Ruto hit out at the opposition for allegedly running what he described as divisive politics aimed at undermining Kenya's unity.

Speaking on Thursday, October 30, during his development tour in Kakamega County, Ruto challenged the opposition to present a concrete plan for Kenyans to consider.
