I don't see anyone who can beat Ruto 2027- MP Jalang'o

Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has said that President William Ruto is firmly on track to retain his seat in the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview with Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu, the first-time MP said he sees no strong challenger capable of unseating Ruto.

"President William Ruto will be re-elected by a wide margin. I haven't seen anyone who can defeat him," he said.

“Ruto going home is going to be hard, and getting him from that seat is going to be harder,” Jalang’o said, noting that the president has made considerable progress in fulfilling his campaign promises and driving development.

According to the Lang’ata MP, the president’s performance over the last two and a half years has been notable.

He pointed to visible development projects and delivery on pledges made during the 2022 campaign as key reasons why Ruto remains politically strong.

“All the promises that he made during his campaign are now being delivered,” he said.

Jalang’o said his opinion was based on observation and the reality on the ground rather than political bias.

 He maintained that performance, rather than party loyalty or emotions, would determine the outcome of the next election.

His remarks come at a time when the country’s political temperature is slowly rising as leaders and parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.

While some in the opposition have hinted at fielding a new face to challenge Ruto, Jalang’o said so far, no potential candidate has emerged with the momentum or support needed to defeat the sitting president.

However, Jalang’o has continued to stand by his position that development and delivery should be the main measure of leadership, not politics alone.
