Radio Jambo emerges Nairobi's top Swahili station with 9 million listeners
Radio Jambo has maintained its position as Nairobi's leading Swahili-language radio station, recording 9 million listeners nationally, according to the GeoPoll Q1 2026 Kenya Radio Audience Survey.
The Radio Africa Group station continues to dominate the Swahili radio segment in the capital, where it recorded 1,244,643 listeners, making it the most listened-to Swahili station in Nairobi.
The survey also showed strong performance during the breakfast slot, with Radio Jambo posting a 16.53 per cent Nairobi breakfast share.
Radio Jambo recorded 9 million listeners nationally and remains the number one Swahili station in Nairobi,” the report stated.
The station's audience performance extends beyond the capital.
In North Eastern, Radio Jambo recorded a 16.00 per cent share, making it the leading commercial station in the region. It also posted a 14.85 per cent share in North West, ranking second overall by audience share.
In Western region, Radio Jambo reached 1.4 million listeners and recorded a 10.30 per cent share.
The station also posted an 11.19 per cent share in Upper Eastern, contributing to a combined 23.0 per cent share alongside Classic 105.
In the Lake region, Radio Jambo recorded a 7.53 per cent share, while in Kisii it posted an 8.78 per cent share to emerge as the leading Swahili commercial station ahead of Radio Maisha.
Radio Jambo is a Radio Africa Group station known for its Swahili-language programming, including news, sports, talk shows and audience-driven discussions.
