Salasya vows to preach peace and unity in Kasipul while campaigning for Aroko

Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has pledged to centre his campaigns in Kasipul constituency on peace and unity as he drums up support for businessman Philip Aroko in the upcoming November 27 by-election.
Taking to his official X account on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after a meeting with Aroko, Salasya said his message to voters would steer clear of divisive politics.
Instead, he vowed to highlight his own development record in Mumias East as a demonstration of what focused leadership can achieve.
Salasya’s campaign strategy in Kasipul
He noted that his visit to the constituency will not be about importing national political rivalries but about sharing his development journey and expressing solidarity with Aroko’s bid.
“One of the keynote statements we have agreed on as I come to Kasipul will be to preach peace and unity of the people of Kasipul. I have told Hon. Philip Aroko as I come, I will not bring national politics of wantam and tutam politics narratives, but I will tell people of Kasipul how I have transformed Mumias East within 3 years and how I will be supportive to Hon. Aroko as he takes over as an MP,” Salasya stated.
The first-term MP stressed that he would not involve himself in the internal politics of Homa Bay or the larger Nyanza region, adding that his mission was simply to back Aroko and encourage unity.
“I have assured him not to get involved in local politics of Homa Bay or Nyanza politics, but I will only embrace unity and how I will be supportive to him after winning. This was one of my best meetings of today,” Salasya assured.

Salasya had earlier confirmed that he had finally met with the businessman and politician and pledged to join him on the campaign trail in the county.
“Thanks so much, my followers, for connecting me to my favourite incoming MP, Hon. Philip Aroko, a very cool and focused man. We shall be landing in Oyugis very soon. Kasipul, we love you,” Salasya said.
He also appreciated his fans for connecting him with Aroko after days of urging the Kasipul electorate to rally behind him. He described Aroko as a calm and composed leader
