You will not succeed in overturning my government - Ruto to rivals

President William Ruto has firmly declared that his rivals will not succeed in forcibly removing him from power through unconstitutional means.

Speaking in the Kilimani area of Nairobi during the launch of an affordable housing project, Ruto said he would not let the country be destroyed by impatient individuals who do not want to wait for the 2027 elections.

“This country will not be destroyed by a few people who are impatient and who want a change of government using unconstitutional means. It is not going to happen,” he stated.

Ruto urged his opponents to prepare their manifestos to present to Kenyans in 2027 if they believe they have better plans for Kenya.

If they have plans, let's meet in 2027. They should prepare their manifesto, and then we will meet in 2027. There is no shortcut in between,” he stated.

The President reiterated that a change of government is possible through the ballot and not through protests.

“I want to tell them, it will not happen. And if they were thinking about it, they better think again,” he added.

He said politicians have been the leaders inciting youth to violence in the name of agitating for good governance.

“You can call me whatever names you want to call me, but I will make sure there is peace and stability in Kenya.”

“People struggle for years to build their businesses, and then a politician, a stupid person, comes and organises protests and chaos and properties are destroyed, then they say it is politics.”
