Mtanikoma! Ruto breathes fire over attack on police, property destruction

President William Ruto has unleashed a fiery warning to those behind recent attacks on police officers and public property, declaring such actions as terrorism.

Ruto warned that it would not be business as usual and that it will be met with absolute force.

The President was speaking on Wednesday when he inspected the ongoing construction of affordable houses for police in Kilimani, Nairobi.

“Nimewavumilia ya kutosha, sasa mtanikoma (I have tolerated you enough),” Ruto said.

“Mtu yeyote anayepiga polisi, mtu yeyote anayevamia police station, that is a declaration of war against the Republic of Kenya and it will not be tolerated anymore.”

In a no-holds-barred statement, Ruto said the government will no longer watch as criminals hiding behind protests unleash violence across the country.

“Kenya cannot and will not be ruled through threats, terror, or chaos. Not under my watch,” he said.

This is no longer a protest, this is anarchy. And we will crush it without fear or favour.”

Ruto said the state will deploy every legal means to safeguard lives, businesses, and public institutions.

“I will protect Kenyans. I will protect their businesses. That is my duty as President, and I will do it, firmly and fully,” he said.

“We will not let thugs destabilise this nation.”

Lamenting the destruction caused by politically fueled protests, Ruto accused certain politicians of misleading the youth and attempting to force regime change through unconstitutional means.

“To those plotting in the shadows, let me tell you clearly. If you have ambitions, prepare your policies and meet me in 2027. There is no shortcut, no backdoor,” he warned.

Lashing out at some politicians who he said are sponsoring the chaos, Ruto told them: “Call me names, insult me all you want, but there will be peace in Kenya. Enough is enough.”

He said anyone trying to destroy the country will face the full force of the law.
