Ruto: Kenya needs peace, not chaos, to create jobs

President William Ruto has maintained that he has a better plan for Kenya, stating that the country needs peace and unity, not chaos and division.

Speaking on Thursday, Ruto said the country cannot afford to waste time on violence and ethnic politics, especially when millions of young people are jobless and desperate for opportunity.

The President spoke when he commissioned the rehabilitated Bridge Savannah- Stage 17-Masimba Road that traverses Embakasi Central and Embakasi East.

“We have no time for violence, chaos, and ethnicity. We want to build our country,” Ruto said.

The President also challenged opposition leaders to focus on offering real solutions rather than inciting unrest

“Anybody who has a plan for Kenya should tell these young people what plan they have for them to have jobs. I have a plan. Let them come with theirs,” Ruto said.

He further stated that no youth in Kenya will secure meaningful employment if the country is stuck in violence and conflict.

According to him, national development is only possible in a stable and peaceful environment.

“Let us agree to protect our nation. Young people cannot get jobs if there is chaos. They cannot get jobs if there is violence. We need peace to plan the development of our country,” Ruto said.

These remarks came two days later when he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to Kenya’s transformation, insisting that the country's development agenda is firmly on course.

Speaking at the State House, Nairobi on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Ruto dismissed critics and urged unity among Kenyans in pushing the country forward.

“Let me tell you that my commitment to the transformation of this country is not reversible,” Ruto declared.

“I can proudly tell you, as professionals in the built environment, as you deploy your expertise and knowledge into this space, you are making history. You are contributing to the transformation of our country,” he added.
